TOLUCA – Norman L. Warnkes, 90, of the Pattonsburg area, died at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Toluca, with the Rev. Tim Barber officiating.
Burial will be in Pattonsburg-Moss Cemetery, rural Toluca.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today (Friday) at the memorial home.
Born March 3, 1915, in rural Benson, he was the son of Edward and Sena (Johnson) Warnkes. He married Velda Kolb on Nov. 9, 1947, near Benson. She survives.
Also surviving are daughters, RoJean (Mrs. Dale) Coleson of Varna and Lois (Randy) Noll of Toluca; a son, Lorin (Charlene) Warnkes of Washburn; a sister,Mabel (Mrs. Alfred) Kettwich of Minonk; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a wife and two daughters in 1946, and a sister.
Norman and his wife, Velda, lived and farmed in the Pattonsburg-LaRose area for 58 years.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
