MINONK – Wayne Franklin Kettwich, 68, of 719 Oak St. died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1991, at Brokaw Hospital in Normal. Born Dec. 18, 1922, in Flanagan to Carl and Minnie Harms Kettwich, he married Marjorie Cunningham on Jan. 28, 1949, in Sterling. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, John of Hennepin and Paul of Brandon, Fla.; one daughter, Janet Hall of Bloomington; one sister, Florence Durre of Flanagan; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. He was a Minonk police officer for 28 years, serving several years as police chief before retiring in 1985. A World War II Army Air Corps veteran, he was a member of the Minonk American Legion Post.
He also was a member of Minonk Baptist Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at his church, the Rev. Harry Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Folkers-Froelich Memorial Home in Minonk, and also one hour before services Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Minonk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his church or the American Cancer Society.
